Last summer I got my first job, in a small café near the beach. I had applied for jobs in three shops, but none of them replied, so I was really pleased when the café owner offered me a job. The work was harder than I expected. On sunny days there were many customers that some people had to wait outside, and I had to carry heavy trays up and down the stairs all afternoon. At first I kept mistakes with people’s orders, but the other staff were very kind and helped me a lot. The best part of the job was meeting people from all over the world. One customer, an old man from Canada, came in every day and me stories about his travels. By the end of the summer, I had saved enough money to a second-hand laptop for college. I’m going back next year, and this time I won’t be so nervous. I’ve already told the owner that I’m forward to it.
